If you're from the Philippines like me, most likely you ride a jeepney everyday to go to places.
Here are the people I usually meet during those times. This list could go on and on... haha
1. The Intern
This is the person who sits in the passenger seat and takes care of the payments and change of the passengers. They seem like interns to me (haha) because they ask the driver how much the fare is, and learns how the system works
2. The Blocker
These are found at the entrance of the back of the jeepney. They block the way by leaning over and It gives you a hard time getting on and off the jeep.
3. The Giver
These are the people who would sacrifice their comfort of sitting down firmly just for you to be able to do so. They would move until the edge of their butt the the only thing that is touching the seat, so you could push in and sit down. Angels in disguise ;)
4. The Nocturnal
This is the one who is in a deep, deep, deep sleep inside the jeepney. It is very hard to wake this person up. The motion of the jeepeney does nothing. This person doesn't mind that he sways side to side and usually his head ends up on the shoulder of the person beside him.
5. The Deaf
This person has their earphones on and doesn't give a thing in the world. Since they couldn't hear anything, there is a slight chance that they will pass the someone's fare to the front
6. The Groupies
A bunch of students going home from school. From my experience, they usually talk out loud and Just having fun by talking about school, movies, tv and teasing each other.
7. The Monkey
A person who has 1 or both of their hands grabbing the rail above them, leans over and arms fully extended. Watch them swing from side to side ;)
8. The Anti-social
Usually inside the jeepney, you have to cooperate to pass the fare to the front for the driver to get it. BUT these people refuse to. They don't want to touch somebody else's money, they turn facing the window (if possible) so that they wouldn't see if they need to pass the money. My Pet peeve.
9. The Procrastinator
A person who pays the fare when they say "para" and is about to get off the jeep. PLEASE if you're like this, make sure you are paying the exact amount or else everybody in the jeep has to wait for you to get your change.
10. The 2-seater
When a person faces towards the window and has one of their knees up on the seat, occupying 2 seats. They hate it when they have to sit properly for the people coming in.
What would you add to this list? ;)
